STORYBOOK EXPLORERS (Ages 3-8)
Storybook Explorers is a 14-week hands-on program where literature, sensory play, and early learning come to life! This session focuses on We the People — celebrating 250 years of America through beloved American classic books and folk tales. From the hilarious legend of George Washington’s famous teeth and the towering tall tale of Swamp Angel, to the cozy prairie world of Laura Ingalls Wilder, the beloved ducks of Robert McCloskey’s Boston, and the inspiring genius of Benjamin Franklin and George Washington Carver, every book becomes a world to step inside and explore. Through themed sensory stations, snacks, hands-on projects, and playful exploration of each story, students will discover how great American books spark wonder, imagination, and a love of learning.
Ages 3– 5— Storybook Explorers
Little learners will explore each story through sensory play, themed snacks, and hands-on stations that weave in early phonics using the Secret Stories method, basic number sense, science exploration, and art — building foundational skills through play and wonder.
Ages K-2 — Storybook Explorers 2
Young explorers will dive deeper with all the hands-on fun, plus creative writing time inspired by Julie Bogart’s Jot It Down approach. Students will narrate, copywork, dictate ideas to the teacher, and craft their own sentences and stories inspired by what they’ve read. No writing experience necessary — students can dictate their stories, practice copywork, or write independently. The goal is creative expression, not perfection.
“Where beloved books spark wonder!”
